UiO-66 is the benchmark zirconium MOF, valued for its combination of high porosity, chemical robustness and broad tunability.

UiO-66 is often a good first-choice material when a customer needs a stable reference MOF for adsorption, separation, catalysis or formulation studies. The material is especially relevant for separation screening, water-compatible sorption studies, pollutant removal, and as a robust platform for defect or surface-functionality studies. Because UiO-66 is so widely studied, it is also useful as a baseline material when comparing new MOF candidates under realistic operating conditions.
